Week Four: Recognizing Jesus Christ- The Lamb of God.

Many people believe that Jesus was just a man or just a prophet. Many in his day only knew him as the son of Joseph and Mary, but he was and is much more than these things. This week we study who Jesus really is and why it is important to confess and believe who he is and what makes him different than any other person that ever lived and walked amongst us. Only one man has ever died for the whole world's sin, only one man has ever loved all people so much that He would lay down His life to reunite them with their God by justifying them, by becoming their lawyer in their defence and asking God's forgiveness so that they may live. That man is Jesus! He came that we would live.

In some "religious circles" (Jehovah's Witness) they argue that there is no such thing as the Trinity in the Bible, it is true the word Trinity itself is not written in the Bible, however Trinity represents three, there are three persons in what is called the Godhead, here we read of two of those from the Godhead that we will later discuss as making up the Trinity or Three persons of God. "God the Father" and "God the Spirit", pay close attention and try to locate the first signs of "God the Son" Can we find God the Son(Jesus) in the first chapter of The Old Testament book of Genesis? For now, let us return to the New Testament though:

See here that we have returned to this Trinity, this time we find it in the New testament book of 1John as we have just read. The reason we must be so sure of this fact that Jesus is God or the person of God is because many have tried to tear down His identity by making Him merely a man or just a prophet as we have earlier mentioned, as you can see this is not true! Jesus is the thrid person of the Godhead and for this cause is known to us as God the Son or The Son of God. This is very important because only God can save us, no man can saved you, no church, no religion, or any other thing can save you except Jesus Christ the Son of God! Let us now take a look at the role of the Spirit of God in this three persons of the Godhead.
