Week Two: What is man?
Understanding who we are as we begin this walk with Jesus is vital. Jesus had selected disciples to walk with him and to learn the ways of God, but often it was difficult for them to understand because they had to mature in the things of God. Since the beginning man has had a difficult time understanding the things of God. Here we will take a look at man and how he was made and why it is difficult for man to walk with God sometimes. This issue is common to all and we can begin to see the difference between the ways of man and the ways of God.

To humble ourselves as God's little children is the most powerful thing that we can do. The world teaches that power is taking a stand, "being a man" But Jesus taugt us that we must come to him as little children. To know that we were created out of the dust of the earth is a healthy reminder, we must remember who we are and where we came from.

Many people believe that our troubles come from us doing wrong. We may have fallen and we have sinned, but not all trouble comes because of our failures. The fact is the devil hates God and wants to make a mockery of God and His people so he is looking always for any chance he can get. Let's take a look at what the devil wants to do to man and how despite what troubles we go through God will always protect us and keep us.

Why is man’s image different without Jesus?
Ephesians 2:10 tells us the reason why we were created, but many have decided not to go along with God's plan of creation and His purposes for them in their life, There has been many books written trying to bring people back to the purpose that God has intended for them. Many have succeeded, yet there are those who still insist upon a lifestyle that rebels against God's plan and purposes. Let's take a look at what this does to man's image and what the outcome of this rebellion may be.

God has said; "he is not willing that any should perish" this does not mean that people will go along with God. Unfortunately despite God's desires and many desires of His faithful that all would be saved, still people rebel, still they insist upon living in their party life, in their resistance to God's ways. Romans 6:23 reads "The wages of sin is death." Many after reading this have asked the question. If God doesn't punish sinners will he have to apologize to Sodom and Gommorrah? God does punish sinners that repeatedly fail to repent, those who insist that they don't need God or God's ways. Will God punish? Will God let some go?
